Barbara Du Mond found her spiritual home among the Unitarian Universalists of San Mateo following membership in the Society of Friends as a young adult, and her childhood and youth in a Missouri Synod Lutheran Church. For the last 20 years she has participated in numerous UUSM committees and taught in the OWL program. Her most recent participation in church life has included the Ministerial Search Committee and the Settlement Team for the incoming, called minister. Barbara is also a member of the UUA President’s Council and the UUSC Stewardship Circle.
Barbara has had the pleasure and the privilege of visiting UU Churches in the Philippines with UUSM’s Partner Church Committee, as well as travelling with her family to Ghana, with the UU-UNO, where the Every Child is Our Child program is assisting AIDS orphans and at-risk youth. These experiences have instilled a vision for how UUs working together can affect change outside the doors of our churches.
Barbara’s professional background is in social work, senior care, music and art. She is a certified permaculture designer and an avid organic gardener. Barbara currently teaches environmental education and gardening, and enjoys oil painting, fabric artistry and singing!
