Organizations

An association of UU state witness, advocacy, and action organizations across the country working to give life the shape of justice. CUUSAN supports the establishment, growth, and development of UU State Action Networks (SANs) and promotes and advocates on behalf of SANs with national UU partner organizations. Organizes monthly calls, shared resources, and communications for SAN leaders.

The oldest and largest BIPOC collective in Unitarian Universalism. The California chapter uplifts, amplifies, and centers BIPOC UUs through a network of regional retreats across the Bay Area, Central Valley, and Southern California. Dismantles white supremacy culture by centering the stories, lived experiences, and spiritual traditions of BIPOC UUs.

The UUA's organizing strategy team and long-running public advocacy campaign that harnesses the power of love to confront and transform systems of oppression. Focus areas include Climate Justice, Decriminalization, Immigration Justice, LGBTQIA+ Rights and Gender Justice, Reproductive Justice, and protecting democracy through UU the Vote. Launched in 2009 as Standing on the Side of Love; renamed in 2018 to be more inclusive.

Founded in 1971, UUJME works for a peaceful and just resolution of the Palestine-Israel conflict, affirming the equality, dignity, freedom, and security of all peoples involved. Principal activities include educational programs, appearances at UUA General Assembly, support of local social action groups, conducting and sponsoring trips to Palestine-Israel, and advocacy. Guided by UU principles, international law, UN resolutions, and universally accepted principles of human rights.

Founded in 2007, UURISE is a Southern California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit advancing justice and human rights for immigrants and refugees. Provides no-cost and low-cost immigration legal services, CARE services (Connections, Advocacy, Resource Navigation, and Emergency Safety Planning), and justice services supporting congregations and communities. Works collaboratively with clients and partners to provide exceptional, inclusive, and reliable service.
