I’ve spent the last 15-years learning everything there is to know about the nonprofit finance, administration, and development industry – from budget development and monitoring to long-term planning and compliance. I’m applying this knowledge in my role as the Director of Finance and Development for the Unitarian Universalist Justice Ministry of California, where my responsibilities include: management and operations, fundraising, donor relations, development strategy, and implementation.
Prior to joining the Unitarian Universalist Justice Ministry, I was the Business Administrator at Mt Diablo UU Church and a financial consultant with Winter Nights Family Shelter. During my tenure at Mt Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church, I streamlined the organizations’ communications and operations systems and developed financial strategies that improve donor analysis, evaluations, and projections.
In addition to my nonprofit work, I have a passion for helping others in my community through volunteerism and youth advocacy.
I have held several roles in the public sector, from my current roles as the Antioch Parks and Recreation Commission Chair to a Parks Advisory Committee Member of the East Bay Regional Parks. My latest endeavor has been working with The City of Antioch Recreation Department to improve its programming impact while utilizing private grant funds to remove financial barriers that impede youth participation. In addition, through my contributions as the Youth Programs and Services Transition Committee Chair, we have developed the first Policy for ‘Inclusion in Parks and Recreation Programs’ in the state of California.
My hobbies include coaching girls’ softball and advocating and bringing awareness to childhood cancer.
