Apology from UUJMCA
At UUJMCA, we do our best to be inclusive of all people but sometimes we miss the mark. Today, we recognize that this is the case. We have made several posts over the past few days since Friday’s Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v Wade. In these posts we have named that we support women and women’s rights. This is in fact very true! What we have failed to do is to name and be inclusive of our nonbinary and trans siblings who are also affected by this ruling. We recognize that we have missed the mark on this.
We offer our deepest apology to our nonbinary and trans siblings who we, by omission, have erased from this as being affected by this travesty and injustice. It was not our intention but intention is not impact. We should have known better and will strive to do better in the future.
We ask for your grace and to accept our apology for this.
Pastor AJ Blackwood, MDiv
