Day 20. Ableism is not a Democratic Value.

Equity and inclusion strengthen our democracy. Whether you are voting by mail, in person or via a drop box, your vote matters and needs to be accessible. Denying accessibility to voting locations is a much less discussed by very real means of voter suppression. If you are disabled or know someone who is, consider evaluating and assessing the access to polling stations in advance to make sure access is available. If you notice something of concern notify your local voter registrar or the ADA.gov. Don’t forget to also vote for policies that benefit everyone.

We are not the first and will not be the last to face fascists, antisemites, racists, homophobes, and misogynists hungry for power. What can we learn from the past to assure our success in protecting democracy?
